Juno Nominated R&B and Soul Singer-Songwriter Daniel Caesar uses Fender to Create his Hits

Fender has released a new video interview featuring Canadian R&B and soul singer-songwriter Daniel Caesar. With true passion, soul and raw emotion, this Juno Award-nominated artist strums his Fender PM-1 All-Mahogany Dreadnought Paramount Series acoustic guitar while singing his hit song “Get You” while explaining  how the acoustic guitar impacts his songwriting process and how he approaches music.

For those unaware of Caesar’s work, he received widespread critical acclaim for his 2014 EP “Praise Break”, which was ranked 19th on Rolling Stone Magazine’s “20 Best R&B Albums of 2014”. This young artist has been making waves ever since, with breakout hits like “Get You” receiving over 10 million streams on Apple Music since it’s October 2016 release. Additionally, the singer’s management reports over 20 million global streams on Apple Music, 12 million streams on Spotify and a monthly listener-ship of over 740,000.

In the video with Fender, Caesar notes that when it comes to his songwriting technique, the acoustic guitar is pivotal in the creative process, as most of his songs are written on an acoustic guitar before they are presented to music producers. The acoustic guitar has always interested Caesar; although he says his writing style and nuances differ on acoustic guitar compared to writing on piano.

“I feel as though my songwriting is stronger…because this is all I have,” he said holding his PM-1. “I’m bare. I can’t hide any of my shortcomings.”

Fortunately, Daniel’s shortcomings seem few and far between. Be sure to check out this up and coming talent.
